The carpet shop (Swindon) Ltd is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, customers, contractors, and visitors within our retail      premises and during associated activities such as delivery and installation. We recognise the specific risks within a carpet retail environment, including manual handling of rolls, customer slips/trips, use of cutting tools, and storage hazards.We will: - Comply with all relevant UK health and safety legislation Provide a safe retail environment for staff and customers 
Prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related ill health 
Maintain safe systems of work for handling, cutting, and fitting carpets 
Promote a positive health and safety culture.

2. Responsibilities Management will ensure safe operation of the shop, complete risk assessments, provide training, and investigate accidents.
Employees must follow safety procedures, keep areas tidy, use equipment correctly, and report hazards.
Contractors must comply with company rules and use safe working practices.
3. Arrangements Risk assessments will cover showroom, warehouse, and delivery tasks.
Manual handling training will be provided and lifting aids used where possible.
Floors will be kept clear to prevent slips and trips.
Storage systems must be secure and regularly inspected.
Tools must be used safely and maintained.
Deliveries must follow safe loading and handling procedures.
PPE will be provided where required.
Fire safety systems will be maintained and emergency procedures followed.
4. Additional Controls Lone working will be risk assessed and monitored.
Dust will be controlled through ventilation and safe cutting practices.
Noise exposure will be minimised.
Waste will be disposed of responsibly and recycled where possible.
5. Monitoring and Review The workplace will be regularly inspected and this policy reviewed annually or after significant changes.
